Shirley Rae Harvey

Shirley Rae Harvey, 85, passed away in her home on June 4, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born in Kemmerer, WY on July 28, 1931. Preceding her in death were her children, Cheryl Lynn Miller and Gary Clayton Harvey and her brother, Russell Hallowell.
As a pastor's wife, Shirley loved partnering with her husband in ministry and touched many lives through her Wisdom Classes and counseling. She taught school at Berean Christian Academy in Chesapeake; Christian Heritage School in Tyler, TX; Chapelwood Christian School in Rockford, IL; and Oasis Christian Academy in Palm Desert, CA. The two words that describe Shirley best are wisdom and humor, traits that shined through in all she did.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of nearly 66 years, Dean H. Harvey; son, Larry Harvey; daughter, Karen Cichorz and her husband, Mark; brother, William Hallowell of Edmonds, WA; 12 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 12, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
